To finish our topic of Traditional Tales, the children in the nursery have been reading the story of The Little Red Hen.

The story teaches and reinforces the idea and values of hard work and working together.
We have enjoyed working together in a group to bake some delicious bread, building a farm for all the animals to live on as well as talking and discussing how we can show friendly, kind behaviour towards our friends whilst at nursery! 🍞

🐷 This week Turtles Class have been reading and exploring the traditional tale of The Three Little Pigs. This story is a perfect way of teaching the children all about the importance of hard work and dedication as well as exploring emotions and feelings.
Our outdoor learning session was spent searching for natural materials that we experimented with "huffing and puffing" as if we were the big, bad wolf and seeing if we could blow them down! 🐷

🍃 This term the nursery class are starting their new Outdoor Learning programme. This type of learning can help children develop social skills, physical skills, and emotional resilience. It can also help them learn about the natural world and develop a respect for it as well as develop a positive impact on the environment.

Research shows that outdoor learning can improve mental and physical health and wellbeing.

This week, the children experimented with mark making and creating patterns using natural materials found in and around the field and playground. 🍃

As we start a new half term, Turtles Class have started to learn and explore all about autumn. Autumn provides the perfect opportunity to teach our young children about seasonal change. The outside during autumn seems to hold a new level of intrigue for children as they explore the fallen leaves, notice new natural objects such as pinecones and acorns, and become more in tune with the wildlife around them.

We proudly celebrated Remembrance Day, teaching the children about the significance of our history as well as having an opportunity to foster a sense of gratitude, empathy and respect for those who have served and those who serve today.
